To deal with her struggles of depression, Michelle Williams checked herself in to a mental health facility. The “Destiny”s Child” singer posted the news via instagram on Tuesday (July 17.)

Williams said that for years she has been increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to seek help, now it was her turn.

She wrote “I recently listened to the same advice I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals.”

Williams also mentioned that even at the height of Destiny’s Child’s success, she felt suicidal. “I was to that place where it got so dark and heavy because sometimes you feel like, ‘I’m the provider, I take care of people, I’m not supposed to be feeling this way — what do I do?’ I wanted out.”
