Major congrats to the G.O.A.T. himself, Lil Wayne as the coveted emcee has received his very first DIAMOND-certified single.

Officially selling 10 million units, Wayne’s 2008 hit “Lolipop” has been RIAA certified and the legendary rapper took to his Instagram to celebrate the moment and also pay his respects to the late featured artist Static Major. “I appreciate every single one of you,” Tunechi exclaimed in his social media caption, showing off the new 10 million hardware he received. In the video, Wayne explains, “My first diamond record. Certified. 10 million singles sold…not streams…”

While taking in the moment, Wayne takes a second to honor the late Static Major who is not only featured on the song but also produced the track, which spent 5 non-consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard charts and helped earn Weezy his first number one album debut.

Nearly 15 years after the song’s initial release, Wayne’s “Lollipop” has garnered much attention thanks to TikTok and has emerged as number one once again on the app’s Top U.S. tracks list.
