Jhene Aiko is one of the sweetest souls to grace the R&B game. The Los Angeles native is best known for her smooth, sultry ballads, combining her distinct angelic voice with hard-hitting production. 2013 was her breakout year, appearing on (now boyfriend) Big Sean’s “Beware” and releasing her first project via Artium and Def Jam. The Sail Out EP yielded some of her greatest songs to date, including “3:16AM”, “Bed Peace” and “The Worst.”
Now, fans can finally stream her new project Chilombo. Just a few weeks back, Jhene shared the tracklist to her forthcoming project, revealing standout features from Nas, John Legend, Ab-Soul, Miguel, Big Sean, and Ty Dolla $ign.
She also posted several notes to her 9.3 million followers on Instagram, revealing her current mindstate and gratitude for her team. A screenshot of her Notes reads: “I am so honored to be surrounded by a team of family and friends who aren’t afraid to step back during my eruptions, who support and join me on all my adventures.. who challenge me, who comfort and support me… and who give me my space, but never leave me alone long enough to self destruct. I love you and I love this journey… it has truly been the reward.”
Fans also have the opportunity to catch her on her new headlining tour, with Queen Naija serving as support.
