What was supposed to be a happy ending after 16-year-old Karol Sanchez was found, turned out to be unreal! After her rescue, local media broke the story that the whole kidnapping was fake. NYPD spoke to media outlets due to the amount of exposure this story received, in trying to find her.
In the report, police say Karol Sanchez was upset with her mother, which lead to the staged kidnapping by her boyfriend.
The mother and daughter were walking down a Bronx street when a sedan pulled up next to them. Two men jumped out and grabbed Karol (the daughter), then pushed the mother, and sped out of sight.
An NYPD spokeswoman declined to comment any further and it’s unknown if they will be pressing any charges on the kidnapper. But, what we do know is that this has the internet on fire. One twitter user wrote, “This is why I say nothing and await details. Fake news is a REAL thing. She not only Jussie’d her mother but her whole city. Such a shame.”
