Tupac’s relationship with his mother was always rocky but was immortalized in Tupac’s 1995 single “Dear Mama,” which appeared on his album “Me Against the World.”

The rapper, who was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1996, has had his story explored many times but FX mentions that their series will take a deeper look at the inspiring and dangerous mother-son duo in American history.

FX has yet to announce the release date.
