It had been approximately a year since we heard any new music from the Canadian duo, DVSN. So, fans were pleasantly surprised when the pair decided to drop not just one, but two, new singles to kick off the launch of their latest promotional campaign. Each track boasts a refreshingly separate sound from the other, yet still manage to give off that uniquely “Dvsn” vibe.

“Let me start by saying sorry / Some days I take your time for granted….You could be the star in / my universe if I just took the time to plan it,” Daniel Daley croons over a guitar-heavy instrumental. The ballad “speaks for the grey area between two people who still haven’t figured out the best ways to communicate their feelings,” the OVO signees explained.

Their second single, “Miss Me?” speaks more to the post-relationship stage, rather than the in between. This time, Nineteen85 has incorporated a few Pop-style elements into a velvety-smooth beat for Daley to sing over. The melancholy lyrics are despairingly relatable in lines like “Do you miss me like I be missin’ you? / Soon as I get you out my system, girl I relapse.” How many times have you considered yourself over someone, until they pop back into your head unexpectedly? While breaking down this particular record, the inspiration seemed to come the feelings surrounding the statement “We all have that one person we can’t get off our mind, but we get scared to ask if they feel the same way.”

Grab your headphones and get in your feelings with both tracks below.
