4 FREE Things To Do In LA For The 4th Of July

It’s FINALLY here! It’s time to break out the bathing suits, the adult beverages (if you’re of age) and head to those little firework stands in the grocery store parking lot because IT’S ALMOST FOURTH OF JULY! And let me tell you, I LIVE for some backyard bbq and any excuse to turn up with the homies.

If you’re anything like me though, this week just creeped up on ya! So it’s likely you have yet to make plans, so you need something to do and fast!! Don’t trip, I got y’all. Here are four different, fun and FREE things to do in the greater Los Angeles area for Fourth of July!

WHAT: 2019 Summer of Music on The Redondo Beach Pier
WHEN: 6-8pm
WHERE: Redondo Beach Pier —100 Fisherman’s Wharf, Redondo Beach
PRICE: FREE, but July 4 parking is $20 flat rate
INFO: Who doesn’t want to spend their 4th of July at the beach?! Enjoy a free concert by indie rock from South Bay band Big Mess and of coure, an awesome fireworks display, that starts at 9!

WHAT: 4th of July Pool Party
WHEN: 12-6pm
WHERE:The Standard, Hollywood — 8300 W. Sunset Blvd., Hollywood
PRICE: FREE with RSVP
INFO: More in the mood for a pool party? Billy Francesca, Lina Bradford, Derek Monteiro and Dr. Annie Biotixx are hosting this rootop shindig, and if you’re 21+ you can swim, dance and drink and celebrate your freedom all afternoon!

WHAT: Brea Country Fair
WHEN: 7am-3pm
WHERE: City Hall Park — 401 S. Brea Blvd., Brea
PRICE: FREE
INFO: If you were hoping for more of the family friendly vibes then this could be for you. They have a yummy pancake breakfast starting bright and early at 7am. Then the Brea Ministerial Association Morning Service. If you’d rather sleep in and enjoy your day off, you can get there anytime after 10 am to enjoy live entertainment, a kiddie parade, bomb food, games, exhibits and a craft marketplace. SO CUTE!

WHAT: Grand Park + The Music Center’s 4th of July Block Party
WHEN: 3-9:30pm
WHERE: Grand Park — 200 N. Grand Ave., downtown L.A. (specific entrances on Hill, and 1st and 2nd streets)
PRICE: FREE
INFO: Ok let’s be real, a block party for the 4th is really where its at!!! BUT if you’re like me and live in an apartment that’s not really an option for you. Well now it it! This FREE party pans six city blocks. If you’re really trying to be frugal you can bring your own picnics or buy from the various food trucks and vendors. There will also be music, dancing, a 75-foot ferris wheel and a fireworks display from the rooftop of The Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

I know ONE of these has to appeal to you if you don’t have plans! There’s a lil somethin somethin for everybody! Hope you all have a SAFE and FUN holiday weekend!
