Wendy got extremely vulnerable with viewers on her show and talked about her struggle with drug addiction.

Wendy Williams has spent much of the last several weeks taking care of her health while she took a hiatus from her show. Wendy has been back for a couple weeks now but before that she kept pushing back her leave, while temporary hosts like Nick Cannon filled in for her. Viewers thought she was still battling her graves disease that she also recently opened up about, but it seems she’s been dealing with something else as well,

That something else, is her cocaine addiction. Wendy has talked about her abusing cocaine and crack cocaine in the past, and as many people know, addiction is unfortunately a never ending battle, even for those who manage to consistently stay sober. On today’s episode Wendy confessed to her audience, “For some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house.” She continued, “When you see me come to work, glammed up, right after the show, I go across the street I do my pilates…and you know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine, in my past…and I never went to a place to get the treatment and I don’t know how.”

Williams explained that only her husband and her son knew about her current struggle, not even her family. She was very candid about her day to day, saying that she has a 24/7 sober coach; and detailed what its like living in the home, where the door is locked and the lights are out by 10pm. The TV host also noted that she goes to several meetings a day around the Tri-state area.

She ended the segment by saying. “So THAT is my truth. I know, I know. Either you’re calling me crazy, or the bravest woman you know. I don’t care.” Watch the full three minute clip below via TMZ.
