The Carters spread some positivity for Black History Month, paying tribute to Megan Markle in their acceptance speech for “Best International Group” at the BRIT Awards in London!
Beyoncé and Jay-Z were not in attendance for their award, but accepted via video message. Shortly after, Queen Bey posted the tribute to her 124M followers on Instagram. The Carters paid tribute by swapping out one of art history’s most famous paintings, the Mona Lisa, for Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. The video they shared is reminiscent of a scene in their highly famous “Apes**t” music video, in which the couple posed in front of Leonardo da Vinci’s greatest work at the Louvre.
The famous painting was replaced with an image of Meghan styled as Queen Victoria. Beyoncé captioned the photo: “In honor of Black History Month, we bow down to one of our Melanated Monas. Congrats on your pregnancy! We wish you so much joy.”
Go ahead Carters keep spreading love!
