Hailing from New York, Emilio Rojas is here to put on for real hip-hop. Having been in the rap game long enough to know the ropes of the industry, the multi-faceted artist continues to release records with meaning, bringing in real life experiences for the people to relate to and confide in. Just a couple days ago, he unleashed his latest project titled Life Got in the Way, produced by iLLMind. Emilio states:

“I’m from New York. My father’s Venezuelan, my mom’s from New York. I guess if I had to compare myself, I’d be a Spanish J. Cole or some shit. Something like that. My story is crazy. There was a moment where people were questioning if I was going to sign to Rick Ross and Maybach Music Group. We had a project done, I were supposed to meet with Chris Lighty to talk about marketing the project. He was managing me at the time. The day we were supposed to meet was when he committed suicide.”

In light of the album’s title, he continues, “I had to kind of get my life together. It was a little traumatic, I didn’t bounce back as quickly as everybody had hoped. I had to process that.”
