Former manager of the Ying Yang Twins, Denver Mike is ready to debut himself as a rapper. Stemming off the YYT’s ability to create timeless hit records and perform them to this day, the LA-based music executive turned artist unleashes his first single, “Ghetto Girl,” featuring T-Pain and Walter French.
Mike states, “The song was inspired by the oft-forgotten vibe and energy of the 90’s and 00’s. A time when you could go to the club, dance and enjoy the night unencumbered by phones and social media. ‘Ghetto Girl’ is an anthem for the ‘around the way’ girl. There was always something special to me about a true ‘ghetto’ girl. I wanted to glorify her, but I didn’t want it to sound like your everyday, standard trap song.”
The 4-minute record is produced by Mike Free and features T-Pain’s signature auto-tuned harmonies and a verse from good friend Walter French. This comes in perfect time for cuffing season in the fall. Listen above!
