Syd The Internet sat down with Billboard and told them she wants to be a pioneer for empowering all women, especially queer women.

The singer-songwriter said she was always comfortable with her sexuality, but she never talked about it in hopes of normalizing it. “Being gay is normal,” said Syd. “I do want to inspire people — young girls who may like to wear boys’ clothes and who romanticize women and feel nothing wrong with it.”

She is even considering creating an all-women’s festival. Syd also talked about her experience being the only out member of the Odd Future collective. Read more of her interview here.

The Internet’s album Hive Mind comes out July 20th.
