Seven years after the release of the feature that took Nicki Minaj‘s career to the next level, the Queen Barbie just revealed that the song almost didn’t make it to Ye’s album.
Taking a trip down memory lane, to revisit the ‘Monster’ collaboration with Kanye West, Jay Z, and Rick Ross, Minaj shared a short clip on Instagram of her electric verse from the 2010 track.
Minaj revealed, in her post caption, that she had to convince West to keep the massive record on his sixth solo studio album, My Beautiful, Dark Twisted Fantasy. The ‘Rake It Up’ rhymer said:
Kanye called me to tell me Jay put a verse on this song & that he was still deciding if he would put it on his album. Haha. It was like an hour long call where I tried to convince him to let the song stay on his album.
Nicki goes on to say that she ‘fought’ Kanye every step of the way before the record’s release and also revealed that Blac Chyna was her body double in the video.
