Since becoming the only rapper to have two back-to-back number one albums on the Billboard 200 chart, in consecutive weeks back in February, Future has solidified his place in hip-hop history.

The budding icon recently teamed up with pop legend Cher for a new GAP campaign, and now the Atlanta native is stepping out on his own with the new cover story in Highsobiety magazine.

The rapper spoke with the magazine about his work ethic and diligence, having longevity in the industry, and the importance of being able to be yourself.

Being yourself [musically] is the most important thing because if you think your sh*t ain’t working and stop trying and then somebody else tries it and starts working for them, you’re going to be mad. Some people try to be everybody, so that’s why they burn out.
