Kodak Black’s music is one of the most popular in the game today. His lyrics aren’t necessarily the most innocent or something that most parents would want their kids listening to.

A middle school teacher in Georgia was suspended for assigning the lyrics from Kodak Black’s “Drowning” as a homework. The assignment, read the lyrics and turned them into something positive. Is that even possible?

During an interview with a local network WSB-TV, one of the moms said: “I’m like reading all these words and I immediately asked her [daughter], ‘why do you have this?’ and she said there was an assignment.” She also said Kodak’s lyrics went against everything she was teaching her kids.

The superintendent also made a statement regarding the poor judging of the now-suspended teacher. “The assignment was inappropriate, unacceptable and contrary to our standards. The employee responsible has been removed from the classroom and will be held accountable for such poor judgment. While we encourage teacher creativity, the expectation is that the instruction is always standards-based and age appropriate.”
