Chance The Rapper has been the topic of many discussions this year, and it only gets better. Chano took to Twitter to give the real story behind his relationship with $500k deal with Apple Music tweeting, “I wanna clear things up. @apple gave me half a mil and a commercial to post Coloring Book exclusively on applemusic for 2 weeks” later adding “If you come across oprtunities to work with good people, pick up cash and keep your integrity I say Do it”.
Chano who is an independent artist has gained a lot of attention and recognition for Coloring Book and felt that in order for the album to maintain its credibility, he needed to clear up the rumors. Coloring Book took home Best Rap Album, and was also the first streaming-only album to be nominated, while also winning.
Following the two weeks after being streamed only on Apple Music, Coloring Book was released for free on SoundCloud. The album can now be purchased on Chanos site.
You can read all of Chance’s tweets below, and you can catch him on his upcoming “Spring Tour 2017” kicking off April 24 in Salt Lake City, Ut and ending October 3 in Los Angeles.

I never felt the need to correct folks on my relationship with @apple but now that more people have tried to discredit my independence..

I think artist can gain a lot from the streaming wars as long as they remain in control of their own product. https://t.co/6agVO3uIdf

I just wanna remain transparent. Folks out there without a deal need to know they’re doing everything right just keep at it. https://t.co/5udstMPX62
