The Weeknd explains in a recent interview with WSJ the reason for the change in his hairstyle, and his reason will surely impress you. You may have noticed that your favorite singer cut his hair and then started to release his first cuts (no pun intended) off of the ‘STARBOY‘ album, which he said was musically inspired by David Bowie.
Abel XO said that the cut had nothing to do with the “STARBOY” album, but just happened to fall in-line with the release of his new music. The Weeknd said in the recent interview: “It was a long time coming. It didn’t feel right anymore, because it ended up becoming a trademark. I told everybody I was getting rid of it, and everybody–literally, unanimously–they were like, ‘No, don’t do it! That’s your whole thing, that’s you.’ And the way they said that, I was like, ‘Oh, I’m definitely cutting it now.’ “
On a sidenote The Weeknd also has a ‘STARBOY‘ pop-up shop in Los Angeles that is open this weekend from November 4th-6th!
