Rihanna has joined a new movement geared up to promote and support education globally. The “Needed Me” singer’s foundation known as, Clara Lionel Foundation, has joined the Global Partnership for Education to promote the movement.
In regards to the movement, Rihanna said, “I feel strongly that all children everywhere should be afforded the opportunity of a quality education.” The initiative will be designed to help more than a quarter of a billion children around the world who do not have access to a decent education.
Rihanna continued: “Therefore I’m proud to announce Clara Lionel Foundation’s partnership with education advocacy leaders like the Global Partnership for Education and Global Citizen. Working together, I know we can amplify our efforts and ensure that millions of children gain access to education globally.”
In Rihanna’s new role as Global Ambassador, her goal is to reach more than 60 developing countries, prioritizing children in conflict and crisis areas. This isn’t the latest philanthropic news from RiRi, as earlier this year she had launched an initiative to help students fund their education by creating her own scholariship program.
