New Lifetime Biopic That Tells Another Story about NWA

New Lifetime Biopic That Tells Another Story about NWA

Lifetime is known for taking stories of the rich and famous and sharing their pieces of their lives with the world that may have been in the dark.

Well, they are at it again with a new film called “Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Me” which showcases the story of R&B Singer Michel’le.

Following one of last year’s biggest movie hit Straight Outta Compton (SOC)  telling the story about rap group NWA, we get to see another side to a story that was left out of the original movie.

Michel’le who was once engaged to and has a son with Dr.Dre says that SOC failed to showcase a lot of information that surrounded the lives of these rappers and her life is one of them.

In the trailer down below we see Michel’le proving herself despite her high pitch talking voice and being signed to Ruthless Records but also suffering physical abuse from Dr.Dre.

During the time that SOC was premiering Dre sent out a public apology to the women that he had been abusive towards. However, that’s not what she wanted to hear. In an interview the “First Lady of Ruthless Records” says;

“I don’t really think it’s a sincere apology. I didn’t ask for a public apology and I think if he is going to apologize he should do it individually. To just group us like we are nothing and nobody I just don’t think it’s sincere. Treat us like we have names.

The Film which is set to air on October 15th may help clear up both sides to the story surrounding Dr. Dre, MIchel’le and the rest of NWA.
