LATINA Magazine Presents The Latinos In Hip Hop Project

LATINA Magazine has created a site that is dedicated to The Latinos In Hip Hop Project which takes a closer look at how the Latino Community is so essential in the culture of Hip Hop. The new interactive site includes a piece by Hip-Hop Historian Nelson George: “Latinos Are Essential” to the Creation of The Genre  that goes in-depth discussing emcees like Big Pun & B-Real. The project also has a section called The Features which has a piece called When J. Lo Was Hip Hop.

The site has a feature called The Timeline that goes from the 1970’s to the 2010’s and highlights the Latinos that were influential at the specific time in Hip Hop history. The Timeline includes MC’s like Kid Frost, Graffiti Artists like TOOFLY, and Radio Personalities like our very own Yesi Ortiz.

The site also includes a spotify playlist that is aligned with The Latino’s In Hip Hop Project.
