D Smoke Talks B.E.T. Awards Performance, Benefits of Winning Rhythm & Flow, Being Bi-lingual & More

The Rhythm & Flow winner sat with Nick Cannon Mornings to discuss putting on for his city of Inglewood, California, his BET Awards performance with his brother SiR, following his journey to Netflix and the benefits of winning the rap competition, the on-going pandemic, being a bi-lingual activist and more.

Nick asked D Smoke about his performance with his brother and the importance of hearing great, uplifting lyrics and the Inglewood rapper said, “That’s really just what happened, we went in the studio and started to write from our hearts you know. And that’s what the process yielded.”

When asked how did winning Netflix’s ‘Rhythm & Flow’ change his life, D Smoke tells Nick, “Man… It put me on the world stage. No exaggeration, we get messages from people in every continent that’s inhabitable, like people in Brazil hit us, people in Africa, plenty of countries in Africa, Europe, Aisa… People are just showing so much love and the beauty of it is that they’re not only connecting with the music and performances, it’s the content that they feel and the character behind it that they connect with, so I couldn’t have asked for a more open welcome.
