Meek Mill Releases A Video In Honor Of Teen Killed By Police Brutality

Police brutality is never anything to take lightly and Meek Mill is ready to tackle the issue head-on with an important PSA video. 

Meek’s record label, Dream Chasers, is putting out the announcement because the rapper believes that real change can be made by spreading awareness. This will be apart of Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, “Responsibility Program”. The video will focus on Pittsburgh teen and honor roll student, Antwon Rose Jr., who was fatally shot in his back by a police officer in June of last year. Antwon’s mother, Michelle Kenney, narrates the video speaking on the need for bridging the gap in communication between police and the communities they are meant to protect and serve.

What motivated Meek Mill to get involved in Antwon’s case, in particular, was because they were both from Pennsylvania. It’s an odd coincidence that Meek Mill was also Antwon’s favorite rapper. Meek aims to inspire people to come together and make changes in their own communities. His hope is that the changes made will last for generations.

The “Responsibility Program” plans to present new stories related to police brutality every few weeks. Kenney is appreciative of the rapper using his platform to honor her son.
