Meek Mill has made the most out of 2018 after having a rough past few years politically and musically. Following his feud with Drake there was a major debate over whether or not he could be compared to Drake and his popularity, which slowly stripped him of a lot of his fan base. Following this, the Philadelphia rapper was caught up in major political troubles forcing him to go back to prison for an arguably unfair amount of time, which prompted Meek to be a spokesperson and advocate for prison reform and African American rights.
After a hard fought battle, Meek exited prison with one thing on his mind: Championships. Immediately following his release he took up politics and was the face of prison reform, using his past experiences to channel hardships and come out with an incredible album. The “Stay Woke” rapper has been featured on the news, won a plethora of awards, was featured on numerous of 2018’s biggest hits, landed the #1 album spot with Championships, and even squashed his beef with Drake. It has been a big year for the rapper and today he was awarded BET’s 2018 Man Of The Year. In an article directly from BET, they could not have said it any better! Read a snippet below:
