Lil Wayne’s new book “Gone ‘Til November” is available today. The reader gets a first-hand look at what jail was like for Lil Wayne, and what he missed out on when he was serving time. While the Young Money rapper was in prison he had a huge desire to perform, and the reader will find out more about that experience in his book. “Rapping has always been second nature to me, but my creativity has absolutely been put to the test since being in this (expletive)… I hope they liked it. I think they did,” Wayne writes.
In his book, Lil Wayne shares what it was like to be a suicide prevention aide in prison. “It’s truly a new reality for me. I was actually there when this kid that was in mental isolation tried to hang up. What’s really (expletive) up is that it all could’ve been prevented if the COs (correctional officers) would’ve just brought him some water,” he stated.
But, even though Wayne was in prison he did not let that stop him from being creative. The rapper discusses his battle with trying to find inspiration while in prison.“Once that was all taken away from me, my creativity was put to the ultimate test,” he writes. “And I passed that (expletive)!” Lil Wayne was exploring his creativity so much, that he almost decided to become a Christian rapper and wrote about that, “I would truly have the power of having pop culture turn to God. I would have straight killers in church every Sunday.”
