Celebrating Martin Luther King Through ‘A Dream’

“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character,” the words that will forever ring in the hearts of many, words that were spoken by a man that will be celebrated forever. 

Martin Luther King made many achievements in his lifetime, but the words that he spoke in his historic “I Have A Dream” speech have carried on through the years, and are what he is best remembered for. The reason why “I Have A Dream”  still resonates with many people today is because the words are still relevant with many issues that still go on to this day. 

Martin Luther King’s achievements and powerful words still resonate with many people, including many celebrities that we know and respect. Some of the celebrities that honor Martin Luther King come from Hip Hop, like Common and Will.I.Am. Both of the artists came out with a track together called “A Dream,” which appeared on the soundtrack of a film called “Freedom Writers.” The “A Dream” track is an ode to Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech and contains samples of King’s voice in the track. 

Martin Luther King’s message is so important that his family has dedicated their lives to his legacy. King’s daughter, Bernice King, is working towards becoming a minister after being inspired by her father’s work. King’s daughter has been inspired by her father’s activism, and delivered a speech to United Nations when she was just a teenager.
