it had been rumored for years that MAC was going to do this collaboration, but when those rumors fell through a petition was created.
Endorsers of this petition included Aaliyah’s brother Rashad Haughton, glam squad, and dear friend Missy Elliott. To date, it has managed to rack up well over 26,000 signatures.
Once the voices of the fans and family members were heard, MAC also head and finally agreed to come out with the long overdue collection.
This morning, just a day before the anniversary of her death, MAC made the announcement via Instagram that fans could expect to see the collection in the summer of 2018.
“Aaliyah is truly one in a million — an unstoppable icon whose groundbreaking work in R&B music and film inspires us all. Today we join her countless fans in celebrating her with the announcement of the M·A·C Aaliyah collection. You made it happen! Stay tuned in 2018,” their Instagram post read.
There is no word yet on what products will be included in this project, but what we do know is it is finally time to have this collab.
