Ariana Grande gave Thank U, Next a personal update during her Eternal Sunshine Tour stop at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. During the July 13 performance, the singer changed the line about former boyfriend Ricky Alvarez, singing that they always find their way back.
The onstage change followed several similar moments during the tour. At earlier concerts, Grande adjusted the same lyric to say that songs about Alvarez still sounded good and that he continued to support her. Alvarez was also seen attending one of her Austin shows in June.
Grande and Alvarez dated from 2015 to 2016 after working together on tour. They remained connected in the years that followed, with Alvarez later serving as a photographer during Grande’s Sweetener World Tour.
