Up and coming rapper, Pop Smoke was killed in a Hollywood Hills home early Wednesday morning. According to law enforcement it was due to a home invasion robbery. Police say the men broke into the house around 4:30am. The two men were seen running on foot, after multiple shots were fired, critically wounding the young rapper.
He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai by ambulance, but was pronounced dead once there.
Police handcuffed one man who was believed to be part of the robbery but was later released, after determining he was not involved. The two men who were seen fleeing the scene have not been caught or identified.
The hip-hop community immediately took to social media to express their condolences and frustrations on the unexpected tragedy.
Nicki Minaj wrote a religious caption in commemoration of Pop.

Many other celebrities have been expressing their thoughts and prayers for the death of the young friend as well.
Pop Smoke was just 20 years old, the rising rapper was supposed to be with us this afternoon at our Mixer Meeting to showcase his music and vibe with the family. Gone way too soon.
