John Legend has been vocal about the disparities when it comes to the physical and emotional burden that mothers carry. He says that he and his siblings were raised by a single dad for most of their teenage years, and that he understands that caring for kids isn’t just a mother’s job.

Legend told USA today, “The idea that only women are raising kids is antiquated and really should be in the past because there are so many different arrangements and so many different careers that parents have these days.”

Legend wants dads to be provided with the resources to care for their babies. For this reason, he decided to team up with Pampers to put 5,000 changing tables in men’s restrooms across the US and Canada by 2021.
