Did Future Sample Ciara On His New Song “Shotgun”?

Has Future been thinking about his ex? Is he trolling her? Are there even any truth to these speculations…?

Last night, Future dropped his surprise EP Save Me. The 7 song project isn’t exactly what fans expected, but people definitely seem to be feeling it none-the-less. Save Me is much more emotional than any of his past projects; he’s got people in their feelings on social media joking that they wanna call up their ex-baes.

Speaking of exs though, upon listening to “Shotgun” fans noticed that the beat is strangely similar to a song by Future’s ex, Ciara. Was the rapper feeling BOLD bold and did he actually sample a Cici track? *side eye*

For those who don’t know, sampling is very common these days and happens more frequently than many people even realize; but sampling your ex? If it’s true, this could be a hip-hop first.

As soon as the album dropped last night comments popped up all over social media talking about the similarities between “Shotgun” and Ciara’s 2006 song “Promise”. It’s hard to say though because some parts seem very similar but the flow is different. This could of course all be intentional to get people talking. The other things is though; artists have to clear samples which isn’t likely to have happened considering their relationship history. As of now neither Future nor Ciara have addressed the claims.
