On August 16, 2018, Aretha Franklin, the notorious soul singer passed away. At the age of 76, her passing broke many hearts. Many celebrities and fans posted their condolences. News reports also took to air homage to Aretha’s passing. On news source in particular completely FAILED in their reports completely disrespecting Aretha and showing racism. Fox News broadcasted a photo of Patti LaBelle inplace of Aretha Franklin for a homage.

Fox News Vice President, Media Desk, Jessica Santostefano released a statement saying, “We sincerely apologize to Aretha Franklin’s family and friends. Our intention was to honor the icon using a secondary image of her performing with Patti LaBelle in the full screen graphic, but the image of Ms. Franklin was obscured in that process, which we deeply regret.”
