News reports also took to air homage to Aretha’s passing. On news source in particular completely FAILED in their reports completely disrespecting Aretha and showing racism. Fox News broadcasted a photo of Patti LaBelle inplace of Aretha Franklin for a homage.
Fox News Vice President, Media Desk, Jessica Santostefano released a statement saying, “We sincerely apologize to Aretha Franklin’s family and friends. Our intention was to honor the icon using a secondary image of her performing with Patti LaBelle in the full screen graphic, but the image of Ms. Franklin was obscured in that process, which we deeply regret.”
