Just a few weeks ago, Pantone honored the late musician with his very own hue of purple called “Love Symbol #2.”
However, in a surprising interview, Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson blows our minds with what his favorite color actually was!
She says, “The standout piece for me is his orange Cloud guitar. It is strange because people always associate the color purple with Prince, but his favorite color was actually orange.”
Mind blown right? But to no surprise, the clues were right in front of us. Just as we assumed that his favorite color was purple, he made some fashion decision s that showed us that it was actually orange.
There are a few times that we actually saw him shorting his favorite color.
at the 2015 Grammys, he was in a sparkling orange tunic. We later saw him in an all-orange suit from his 2007 Super Bowl performance. He also wore a high-collared orange shirt during the same show. Lastly, he was seen with an orange guitar-during a Las Vegas residency in 2006 and at that year’s BET Awards.
