The king, Lebron James – is helping out his community in a major way! Education is an essential part of everyone’s life, that’s why James decided to open a public school for at-risk kids in Akron.
Lebron James and his family foundation announced they would like to open the school for 3rd and 4th graders in Fall 2018. Eventually, their plans are to expand the school to 1st – 8th graders by 2022.
James, went through some difficult situations growing up, that’s why this project means so much to him. He says, “this school is so important to me because our vision is to create a place for the kids in Akron who need it most — those that could fall through the cracks if we don’t do something.”
Not only is he planning to open a school, but he has partnered with Akron University – to provide full scholarships to anyone who graduated from his I Promise program.
