Reflex Top 10 Post for April 1st via Jay-Z's Life and Times
I've been wanting to make a weekly top 10 for a while now that is just a multi genre fun mix for people to enjoy and I really wanted to make it in a classic manner on two turntables recorded live. This is my first installment of my top 10.
1) Haim "Falling"
One of my favorite new bands, Haim keeps making fun quality music that has a huge buzz around town.
2) Daft Punk "Random Access Memories" (Dream Logic Remix/L'ordre Cover)
It's kind of dangerous territory to remix a Daft Punk record before the official single drops but this remix left the snippet that D.P. dropped on us pretty well intact and the L'ordre cover of it is pretty funky. Can't wait for this Daft Punk album.
3) Disclosure ft. AlunaGeorge "White Noise"
I'm really digging Disclosure's production and throwback mentality on the tracks. Here's another groovy tune.
4.) Les Sins "Grind" !2 inch
Some easy listening funky soul house and ultimately just DOPE!
5.) Dillon Francis ft. Simon Lord "Messages"
Dillon is becoming a favorite producer of mine with key remixes for Justin Timberlake and such, he always seems to be a step ahead of the curve in electronic music.
6.) Scoop Deville "Let's Make Babies"
Scoop now famous for his flip of Janet Jackson's "Anytime Anyplace" for Kendrick Lamar's "Poetic Justice" smash, continues to beat up samples for infectious beats. He takes on Prince on this track. He sent me so much dope stuff it was hard to choose what to feature in this mix.
7.) AWOL Nation ft. Kendrick Lamar "Sail" (Remix)
